Chumley Investigations began as a dream of principals Cheryl and Doug Chumley to help find missing persons — particularly, missing children — and grew from there. Today, the firm also provides background checks and skip traces; matrimonial, custody and domestic investigations; surveillance; and campaign candidate or political research for individuals, law firms and attorneys, and corporations. Chumley Investigations can also provide other services on a case-by-case basis; if you don’t see your need specifically listed, just ask.
Chumley Investigations offers reasonable rates for all services, which are estimated by either flat or hourly rate. Generally, retainers are required at contract signing. We work hard to be transparent with all our pricing, and offer free consultations that include cost estimates for requested services. Of course, each case is different and carries its own specific costs-for-services. But we will partner with you to manage your case in a way that agrees with your financial situation and as part of the final report, provide a written summary of expenses for your review and tax records.
The first step is deciding if you need a private investigator, and if you do, then just drop us an email or give a call. We will then set a time that’s convenient for you to discuss your personal investigative needs in more detail. This initial consultation is free; it can last up to 30 minutes; and this is where you give specifics of the type of investigation you’re seeking and we ask lots of questions. We also go over pricing, and discuss whatever deadlines your investigation may include. At the end of this call, we’ll simply let you decide the next steps: You can hire us, you can think about it, or you can decide that maybe a private investigator service is not for you after all.
